For Charlie

When I met Charlie, I didn’t realize how much he would shape my life. He was never just my dog. He was my constant, my teacher in patience and responsibility, and the one who quietly raised the bar for how deeply you can show up for another being.

Charlie was a rescue with a complicated medical history from the start. Over sixteen and a half years, we navigated chronic conditions, sudden flare-ups, and long stretches of uncertainty.

I learned how to show up as a true advocate in his care. I paid close attention. I learned what was easy to miss. I worked alongside his veterinary team so he could keep living a full, joyful life.

It was hard staying on top of everything. I wished I had more help before and after his vet appointments. Something that could help me be a better advocate on Charlie’s behalf — so I could remember everything, know exactly what had changed, understand why it mattered, and feel more informed when the vet was creating his care plan. BarkLens is the thing I wished for in every waiting room of those sixteen and a half years.

Until recently, this couldn’t be built: a partner that knows your dog’s history, helps you notice what is easy to overlook, and explains it from published veterinary sources.
